ET): The U.S Mint addressed packaging of the 2022 Mint Set, stating: This year’s set is likely experiencing more-than-typical returns due to an apparent problem in packaging that makes some sets look like their coins are damaged. These impressive copper-nickel half dollars were issued in 1986, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Last year’s set fell 626 during its first week of sales. Some product declines have become almost normal during this time when returns take hold.
Mint’s 2022 Uncirculated Coin Set (2022 Mint Set) dropped 6,453 to 158,257 during its first full week of sales.
